 Time for an update !!  Fishing in Solomons has stayed great,  since June 12 we have been enjoying a consistent livelining bite, allowing us to catch limits of nice stripers in the morning as well as the afternoon.  As July has brought us in the past, our resident rockfish and bluefish have began to cruise around looking for schools of small silversides to terrorize.  This has given us some more great light tackle fishing, primarily with live bait, but also some artificial topwater action.  Bottom fishing has remained good with fair catches of white perch and good numbers of large and bait size spot in the daytime as well as excellent croaker fishing for the night time anglers!          

            As anticipated, the late night croaker trips have been very productive lately with great catches of croakers up to about 18 inches.   Our night trips we have been leaving the pier between 3 and 4 returning between 11 and 12 loaded up with croakers, rock or blues.  The last few weeks the fishing for croaker has not really picked up until after dark, leaving us with a few hours of fishing time to devote towards spot, rockfish, or the Chesapeake's famous chopper blues. Last July and the first coulple of weeks in August offered us some of the best fishing for the big moby croakers up to 19inches last year and this past week has shown us this year may also follow suit!                

Our light tackle season is finally here don't miss your opportunity to catch a cooler full of dino-croakers and some nice light tackle rockfish!!!
